For ‘MUSIC IS A FRAME’, I have been accompanying the composer Manos Tsangaris since 2016: to Munich, Athens, Hong Kong, Oslo. And then also to the countryside. It was very quiet there… ascetic. In Dresden, we staged a piece for the camera with El Perro Andaluz that should never have been performed again.  And we had a lot of fun doing it… there was even a chicken.
We were in the forest, on the street, in a retirement home … because Manos‘ pieces were performed there and mingled with the ‘normal’ world.
‘Music is a frame’ opened my eyes and ears.

The WIEN MODERN festival says about the film: ‘The result is a sensitive portrait of sound, perception and the small moments of transformation.’

I am looking forward to experiencing the film with you on the big screen at the Zentralwerk.  The event is also a tribute to the Zentralwerk a place where experiments – artistic, social, or both at once – can take place.
That’s why we’ve joined forces and are organising a mini festival with many cooperation partners under the title of the film (1 October – 12 October).

Für „MUSIC IS A FRAME“ habe ich den Komponisten Manos Tsangaris seit 2016 begleitet: nach München, Athen, Hong Kong, Oslo. Und dann auch auf dem Land. Da war es ganz ruhig…. asketisch. In Dresden haben wir mit El Perro Andaluz ein Stück für die Kamera inszeniert, das niemals hätte noch einmal aufgeführt werden sollen.  Und viel Spaß dabei gehabt… ein Huhn war auch dabei.
Wir waren im Wald, auf der Strasse, in einem Altersheim… denn Manos Stücke kamen dort zur Aufführung und vermischten sich mit der „ganz normalen“ Welt.
„Music is a frame“ hat mir Augen und Ohren geöffnet.

Das Festival WIEN MODERN sagt zum Film: „Entstanden ist ein sensibles Porträt über Klang, Wahrnehmung und die kleinen Momente der Verwandlung.“

Ich freuete mich den FIlm mit Euch auf der großen Leinwand im Zentralwerk zu erleben. 
Die Veranstaltung ist auch eine Hommage an das Zentralwerk als ein Ort, an dem Experimente – künstlerische oder soziale oder beides zugleich – möglich sind.
Deshalb haben wir uns zusammen getan und machten unter dem Titel des Films ein Mini Festival mit vielen Kooperationspartner*innen (1. Oktober – 12. Oktober).
