ABBILD UND KÖRPER
„Abbild und Körper“ (Image and Body) is a work that straddles the line between performance and photography. Specifically, the piece is based on a 1929 photograph of Mary Wigman’s „Sommerlicher Tanz“ (Summer Dance) an image captured by photographer Charlotte Rudolph and selected by Barbara Lubich and Anna Till as the basis for their own photographic reconstruction.
From what movement did the image originate? How was the lighting arranged, the framing determined, and the moment captured?
By retracing the moment the photograph was taken, Till and Lubich engage with the collaborative working relationship between Charlotte Rudolph and Mary Wigman; at the same time, they pay tribute to the photographer who unlike the world-famous Mary Wigman fell into obscurity and died in poverty.
Premiere: September 22, 2018, during a public bus tour with multiple stops in Dresden.

Abbild und Körper ist ein Werk, das sich zwischen Performance und Fotografie bewegt. Konkret basiert das Stück auf einem Foto des „Sommerlichen Tanzes“ von Mary Wigman aus dem Jahr 1929, das von Fotografin Charlotte Rudolph aufgenommen und von Barbara Lubich und Anna Till als Motiv für ihre fotografische Rekonstruktion ausgewählt wurde.
Aus welcher Bewegung entstand das Bild? Wie wurde das Licht gesetzt, der Ausschnitt bestimmt, der Augenblick festgehalten?
Indem Till und Lubich den Augenblick der Fotografie nachvollziehen, nähern sie sich der kollaborativen Arbeitsweise von Charlotte Rudolph und Mary Wigman an und erinnern gleichzeitig an die Fotografin, die – im Gegensatz zur weltberühmten Mary Wigman – in Vergessenheit geriet und in Armut starb.
